The QuickLink-Pen Elite is ideal for students, doctors, business people, or
researchers who need the ability to quickly and easily take notes whenever and
wherever they might be - in a library, on a plane, or in a business meeting.
This pen produces an accurate text scan that you can "beam" (via infrared) directly to your Windows PC or Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone devices. It can scan up to 1000 text pages. It can also convert scanned text into speech, which you can then hear on the small internal speaker, or by using the included plug-in earphone. The speech pitch and rate are adjustable to produce a fairly understandable output. The pen also has its own built-in American Heritage Concise Dictionary for looking up definitions, and can also be plugged into a PC's USB port for text transfer.

The QuickLink-Pen Elite comes complete with several useful applications including:

Scan and Store

• Scan and Store up to 1,000 pages of text in English (additional scanning languages - German, Swedish, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French are supplied on CD ROM for optional installation).
• Transfer stored text to PDAs (PalmOS and WinCE), Smartphones (PalmOS and Windows Mobile 2003) or PCs via IRDA Infra red connection.
• Transfer stored notes to PCs via USB connection (and automatically create MS Word documents).
• Read aloud the scanned notes using the text to speech function, either through the built-in speaker or headphones.
  

Scan and Define

• Display the definition of any word in the notes, using the included American Heritage® Concise Dictionary.
  

Scan to PC

• Allow real time scanning directly via the USB connection into any Windows based application, with the scanned text appearing at the cursor point.
  

Image Capture

• Scan and store small images that can then be transferred to a PC at a later time.
  

The following applications are supplied on CD ROM for optional installation:

• Address Book - scan business cards and synchronize with a desktop or PDA address book such as MS Outlook.
• Table Builder - scan data in spreadsheet format and transfer directly in to MS Excel on a PC.
• Internet Links - scan URLs (www.url.com) and transfer them directly into Internet Explorer favorites list.
